- Working with Diagnostic Imaging patients primarily in MRI
- Greet patients in Waiting Room, assist in preparing patients for MRI exam
- Perform initial MRI screening, organize paperwork
- Initiate IV starts for patients requiring contrast
- Assist with Rectal/Vaginal contrast as required and with scope of practice
- Assist in room turnover between patients
- Restocking rooms
- Monitor patients post exam and provide nursing care as needed
- Work collaboratively with MRI staff to ensure safe and timely care for imaging patients
- Establish and maintain respectful, collaborative therapeutic and interprofessional relationships
- Answer phone calls to MRI
- Coordinate next day in patients with unit; complete inpatient MRI related paperwork
- Printing of day lists
- Assisting with patient transfers to MRI equipment
- Monitoring and management of allergic reactions in consultation with supervising Radiologist
Training will be provided for Level 1 MRI Assistant to allow:
Zone 4 Magnet room access for performing tasks in MRI scan room i.e. preparing MRI scan table, changing coils, MRI table removal when required, etc, and other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred at time of hire
- Organized and with ability to work in a team environment.
- Caring, compassionate, customer focused attitude towards patients and families.
- Good team player with positive attitude.
- Evidence of continued learning.
- Must be physically able to do the job, which involves heavy lifting and intensive physical effort.
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record.
- IV Skills and maintenance required
Additional Information Status**:
Temporary Full-time for approx. 6 months
Salary:
$33.26 to $35.97 hour
