_Marketing Coordinator_

  • The University of the Fraser Valley Student Union Society (SUS) is a BC Not-ForProfit Society representing and serving UFV students. The Society manages the Student Union Building and facilitates services such as the UFV U-Pass, food services, and the student health and dental plan. SUS also provides support to an active community by organizing events and providing wellness and developmental programming. As the official representative body of UFV students, our mission is to be an inclusive community that provides highquality, accessible programs and services. We are the unified voice advocating on behalf of student interests in the UFV community, ensuring each student has opportunities to thrive._
Work Schedule: 30 hours/week (Full-time)


Compensation:
$21.63 per hour


Reporting to:
Marketing and Communications Manager


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
The Marketing Coordinator has specific responsibility for a variety of functions, including but not limited to the following outlined below:

  • Administers SUS/FG social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and any other relevant platforms
  • Aid in developing and executing marketing strategies, collaborating with team members to coordinate marketing campaigns, social media, and overall branding elements.
  • Create content that promotes audience interaction, increases audience presence and encourages audience participation
  • Proposing new ideas and concepts for social media content
  • Showcase the "personality" behind the organization through creative writing
  • Write clear, attractive copy with a distinct voice for marketing materials such as social media, posters, eblasts and blog posts
  • Create and maintain tracking and analyzing analytics from media channels (Square Space, Instagram, Mailchimp, etc.)
  • Assists external team members with large projects, events, and community engagement
  • Other duties as assigned by the Marketing and Communications Manager

QUALIFICATIONS AND ASSETS

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in marketing, advertising, or communications
  • Experience in marketing coordination or similar role
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and devising digital campaigns that engage, inform, and motivate
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS) and customer relationship management (CRM) tools
  • Experience using data analytics software for research
  • Excellent communication skills
