POSITION TYPE:
Full Time - Afternoon Shift (4 x 10 hours)

***: The Heavy Equipment Technician will perform mechanical repairs, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting and PDIs on a variety of equipment that is represented by JJE in a timely and effective manner.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Licensed Heavy Equipment or Truck & Coach Technician
  • Chassis experience considered an asset
  • Experienced with hydraulic and/or electrical work
  • Exposure to Street Sweepers, Vacuum Trucks or Refuse equipment considered an asset
  • Valid driver's license with clean abstract
  • DZ considered an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a safe manner
  • Team player and willing to assist others when required
  • Attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Critical thinker with ability to execute aspects of work independently
  • Proficient with computers

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES/DUTIES:


  • Perform trouble shooting, mechanical repairs and PDIs (predelivery inspections) on a variety of heavy equipment represented by JJE
  • Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiency
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
  • Communicate with Lead Hand and/or Service Manager regarding job progress and job status changes
  • Maintain organized and safe work area, shop tools and service van
