POSITION TYPE:
Full Time - Afternoon Shift (4 x 10 hours)

***: The Heavy Equipment Technician will perform mechanical repairs, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting and PDIs on a variety of equipment that is represented by JJE in a timely and effective manner.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Licensed Heavy Equipment or Truck & Coach Technician
Chassis experience considered an asset
Experienced with hydraulic and/or electrical work
Exposure to Street Sweepers, Vacuum Trucks or Refuse equipment considered an asset
Valid driver's license with clean abstract
DZ considered an asset
Demonstrated ability to work in a safe manner
Team player and willing to assist others when required
Attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction
Critical thinker with ability to execute aspects of work independently
Proficient with computers

SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES/DUTIES:

Perform trouble shooting, mechanical repairs and PDIs (predelivery inspections) on a variety of heavy equipment represented by JJE
Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiency
Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
Communicate with Lead Hand and/or Service Manager regarding job progress and job status changes
Maintain organized and safe work area, shop tools and service van
