Applications are invited for the Organizational Development and Learning Coordinator position in the Human Resources Department at Niagara College, located at the Welland Campus.

The salary range is $62,160 to $77,699 for a 35 hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.


Reporting to the Director, Centre for Professional and Organizational Development, the Organizational Development and Learning Coordinator supports the Centre for Professional and Organizational Development (CPOD) team by undertaking projects and tasks related to the services and programs it offers.

The position is responsible for the coordination, research, and administration of a range of learning and development activities and projects (often highly sensitive and confidential) as directed by the Director and Organizational Development and Learning Consultant.


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • In complex, sensitive and often confidential situations, completes preliminary needs assessment and carries out research as directed on best practices or learning objectives
  • Participates in the development of learning tools and resources
  • Creates, administers, distributes workplace analysis/assessment surveys
  • Undertakes best practice research into workplace issues based on identified needs
  • Creates summary reports based on research or data provided
  • Develops and maintains accurate records and processes for all learning activities
  • Prepares materials and arranges meetings for OD functions such as team assessment sessions, focus groups, etc
  • Provides responses to staff on Organizational Development and Training policies and procedures including resolving problems related to the operation of CPOD
  • Maintains and tracks CPOD office budget

Qualifications:


  • Minimum of three (3) year diploma/degree in Human Resources, Business and/or Public Administration, Labour Relations, Psychology, Adult Education, or similar field of study
  • Minimum of three (3) years of related experience preferably in an educational or notforprofit environment
  • Experience working in a large complex organization and experience in a unionized setting preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis, report writing, and creation of learning materials
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative research and data analysis
  • Experience sourcing and assessing employee learning and engagement providers and programs
  • Solid understanding of principles of adult learning and organizational development
  • Ability to prioritize workload and multitask effectively
