Position Summary:


Reporting to the Director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL), and working in collaboration with the University's academic leadership, and faculty/instructors/students, the Manager, Open Education & Publishing, is responsible for the University of Regina's Open Education Resource Publishing program, an institution-wide initiative that implicates all faculty, staff, and students directly or indirectly.


Responsibilities include:

OER

Project Management:


  • Guide openaccess textbook authors through publication
  • Manage OER Program proposal process and calls
  • Coordinate Adjudication Committee
  • Oversee OER Program projects
  • Handle OER Program documentation and revisions

OER

Resource & Technical Management:


  • Offer technical support for online OER platform (PressBooks)
  • Coordinate with instructional designers, editors, and reviewers
  • Prepare program reports and monitor budgets

OER

Educational Development:


  • Assist faculty in finding, creating, and adopting OERs
  • Offer consultations on OERs and opensource software usage
  • Explore emerging digital tools for education
  • Support adoption of open educational practices
  • Offer Pressbooks training and workshops on Open Educational Practices

OER

Knowledge Mobilization & Networking:


  • Promote and track OER publications
  • Network with OER Managers at other universities
  • Develop and manage OER and open/free software collection
  • Support Open Educational Practices across the university
  • Contribute to OER Program newsletter
  • Communicate OER Program activities and resources
Position Requirements


Position Requirements:


  • Education and Experience: A minimum of a Master's degree in a related field (e.g., education, instructional design, educational technology) and at least 510 years of relevant experience;
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of online publishing platforms, such as Pressbooks, and experience managing and maintaining websites. Familiarity with opensource and lowcost educational tools and software, as well as accessibility and equity requirements;

Collaboration Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, such as faculty, staff, students, and OER managers at other universities.

Experience in preparing and delivering reports, instructional materials, and workshops;

  • Project Management Expertise: Proven project management skills with experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously, monitoring budgets, and ensuring the timely completion of tasks. Ability to provide guidance and support to faculty and staff throughout the OER project lifecycle; and,
  • Knowledge Mobilization and Networking: Demonstrated experience in promoting OER initiatives, building and maintaining relationships with other OER professionals, and staying uptodate with emerging trends and best practices in open educational resources and practices.
Physical Demands Pay Grade APT 6 Salary Range $70,927 - $95,703 Annually Status Term Work Hours

Typical work hours are 8:15 to 4:30 but there is flexibility.
