What Would You Do?

The key duties and responsibilities of this position would include:

Monthly reconciling finished goods, WIP and raw material inventories
Month end accounting for inventory valuation and cost of goods sold activities
Analyze inventory, provide interpretation, and variance analysis
Complete intercompany activities as they relate to COGS activity
Analyzing variances at the item level up to the piece level
Preparing weekly inventory reporting for management
Working with Accounts Payable department to properly record cost information
Assisting in month end close of the general ledger
Collaborating with other departments on the analysis of profitability of products
Participating in the development and implementation of projects, policies and/or procedures, aimed at improving productivity for the department
Liaising with other business units within the organization
Monitoring physical inventories on the plant floor and cycle count programs
Other analysis duties as assigned

What Do You Bring?

Minimum of two years of analyst experience in a manufacturing environment
Education at postsecondary level in accounting
Pursuing CPA designation is an asset
Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
Strong oral and written communication skills; able to converse comfortably with business partners
Strong organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail and commitments to excellence
Ability to accurately prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports
Ability to analyze processes, develop efficiencies and initiate constructive solutions
Demonstrated ability to work independently and part of a team
Flexible and able to adapt to change in a positive manner
Experience with MAPICS or another main frame system is an asset
