What Would You Do?

The key duties and responsibilities of this position would include:

  • Monthly reconciling finished goods, WIP and raw material inventories
  • Month end accounting for inventory valuation and cost of goods sold activities
  • Analyze inventory, provide interpretation, and variance analysis
  • Complete intercompany activities as they relate to COGS activity
  • Analyzing variances at the item level up to the piece level
  • Preparing weekly inventory reporting for management
  • Working with Accounts Payable department to properly record cost information
  • Assisting in month end close of the general ledger
  • Collaborating with other departments on the analysis of profitability of products
  • Participating in the development and implementation of projects, policies and/or procedures, aimed at improving productivity for the department
  • Liaising with other business units within the organization
  • Monitoring physical inventories on the plant floor and cycle count programs
  • Other analysis duties as assigned
What Do You Bring?

  • Minimum of two years of analyst experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Education at postsecondary level in accounting
  • Pursuing CPA designation is an asset
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; able to converse comfortably with business partners
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail and commitments to excellence
  • Ability to accurately prepare monthly, quarterly and annual reports
  • Ability to analyze processes, develop efficiencies and initiate constructive solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and part of a team
  • Flexible and able to adapt to change in a positive manner
  • Experience with MAPICS or another main frame system is an asset
