THE ROLE

The Project Lead will oversee the implementation of the Butterfly Project, providing leadership to enhance our resident and family-centered care culture and service excellence.

This role aims to revolutionize senior living by ensuring that the organization's mission, vision, and values translate into a meaningful lived experience through the delivery of emotion-based care to residents.

RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Functions as the primary lead and designated liaison between MCM and peopleCare Communities.
  • Embarks on an ongoing journey of learning and deployment of newly learned butterfly practices, concepts, and techniques.
  • Learns from the MCM resources about implementation steps, success factors and the activities required to be successfully completed for each milestone, with outcome of achieving Butterfly accreditation.
  • Liaise with MCM to prioritize milestones, monitor project progress, and ensure milestones are reached.
  • Oversee all project logistics including: the development of a project plan, work schedules, and assess priorities and operational elements (i.e., staffing, budget and resource requirements).
  • Acts as the lead trainer and provide education utilizing MCM training techniques related to Butterfly approaches and role model the desired behaviours.
  • Provide intervention and offer on the spot and supportive coaching at times when staff approaches do not align with butterfly approaches.
  • Coordinate all required training associated with the implementation of the project in consultation with staffing managers.
  • Work with frontline staff and interdisciplinary team members to identify enhancements to organizational practices, policies and procedures utilized in the home to support Butterfly approaches.
  • Communicate progress at team meetings, resident and family council meetings, committee meetings etc. to ensure ongoing stakeholder engagement.
  • Engage residents, families, and team members as active participants in the project.
  • Recognize the influence of culture on change initiatives, develop strategies and plans with consideration of these influences, and pinpoint cultural elements that need adjustment to achieve project objectives.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post Secondary education requiredcollege or university degree or certificate in healthcare or a related field.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting or social services setting.
  • Proven ability to adapt, build trust, and provide coaching and mentorship to facilitate change and drive continuous improvement.
  • Able to engage and convey knowledge effectively. Experience with adult training is an asset.
  • Has a strong emotional intelligence to promote success at the individual, team, and organizational levels.
  • Possesses strong leadership, critical thinking, and teambuilding skills; recognizes the importance of change and can effectively challenge the status quo.
  • Passionate about people, personcentred care and changing the world of senior living through emotionbased care.
  • Outstanding communication skills, including listening, verbal, presentation, and written, with all stakeholders (residents, families, and staff).
