(a GFL Environmental Company) is looking for a Technician (Plumbing & Maintenance) to support our Commercial lines of business out of our
Downtown, Toronto, ON site.

The Technician will be primarily responsible for the operation and monitoring of mobile water treatment system(s) consisting of coagulation, sand and bag sediment filtration, media filtration etc.


This is a continental shift and hours vary depending on business needs.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Operation and monitoring of mobile water treatment system(s)
  • Collect incoming water samples, record volumes and receiver information
  • Perform bench testing of incoming water to determine appropriate water treatment process
  • Actively contribute as required to ensure that projects maintain forward momentum
  • Work within the system and demonstrate the ability to effectively work in an established team oriented culture
  • High degree of handson versatility and ability to consult with Site Supervisor to execute contingency plans in a timely manner
  • Ensure the highest degree of compliance with standards and regulations related to Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental legislation in all phases of project activity

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:


  • Grade 12 education or equivalent College or University diploma

Prior plumbing experience is considered an asset:


  • Prior maintenance experience is considered an asset:

G licence required:


  • Experiencing working construction is an asset


  • Detail Oriented

  • System must be monitored closely to ensure it is operating within required parameters. A detailed operations log will be provided and must be filled out daily. Water samples will have to be taken and documented in accordance with proper sampling protocol.
  • Able to Work Outside
  • All system components are located outside and will be operational in all weather conditions.
  • Responsibilities will also include moving and/or replacing media, bag filters, piping, hoses, totes, pumps and other equipment onsite as needed. Experience in plumbing and/or labor work is a major asset.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team effort, and a willingness to be very handson

Salary:
$23.00-$26.00 per hour
