Location

Position Overview


The Coordinator, Transit Fleet Parts manages stock for the transit fleet, which includes the purchase and timely arrival of products, shipping and receiving, maintaining work orders, and handling invoices.

Stock includes parts, components, materials, tools, lubricants, and protective clothing. This position provides backup for the supervisor during absences.


Responsibilities

This position is responsible for:

  • Sourcing, purchasing, and verifying price/availability of parts, supplies and equipment,
  • Maintaining adequate and economical inventory including shipping and receiving items,
  • Preparing work orders, purchase orders, and invoices,
  • Entering information into computerized systems and monitoring purchase card and budget transactions,
  • Updating fleet service preventive maintenance records,
  • Providing administrative support to the maintenance section including data entry, filing, updating spreadsheets, processing timesheets, and filing
  • Renewing license stickers, replacement ownerships, and general licensing activities annually

Requirements:


You have a high school diploma along with post-secondary education or training in inventory management, supply chain management, or purchasing.

Certification in these areas is considered an asset. You also bring a minimum of four years of experience working in purchasing and/or inventory management. Your proven communication and customer service skills compliment your attention to detail and ability to effectively organize your work. Experience with a computerized work order system e.g. (EAM) enterprise asset management system is considered an asset.

Applicants must be able to meet the challenges of a physically demanding job and possess or be able to obtain certification to operate a forklift.


A valid Class G driver's licence is required with an acceptable driver's abstract (no more than three (3) driving related convictions or an accumulation of no more than three (3) demerit points in the previous three (3) years prior to the date of hire).
