As Saskatoon's premium Arts and Convention Centre, TCU Place offers hosting space for a diverse set of live events right in the heart of our downtown core.

The safety and protection of all people, property, and assets of TCU Place is paramount.

We are currently seeking an effective leader in security and emergency practices to join our team as the Protective Services Manager.


Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Protective Services Manager leads all emergency and protective service functions of TCU Place.

In addition to the safety and security of all people and property, the Protective Services Manager also plans, coordinates, and supervises the performance of:


  • TCU Place Stage Door Attendants
  • Contract Security Personnel
  • Contract Event Crowd Management
Working cooperatively and closely with all departments of TCU Place the Protective Services Manager will:

  • Act with members of the Emergency Response Team, responding in cases of fire, accident, safety concerns, and calls for medical assistance.
  • Schedule the appropriate personnel based on the needs of events
  • Provide excellent guest and employee experiences to all individuals entering the facility with a welcoming disposition
  • Champion and display proficient skills in incident deescalation and conflict resolution
  • Conduct annual security assessments
  • Establish/Revise TCU Place procedures related to crowd management, incident reporting, visitor protocols, monitoring equipment, lost and found program, and parking
  • Develop and facilitate training related to emergency procedures within the venue, to all staff, with the consideration of members who primarily work events outside of standard business hours
  • Serves as an active member of the Health and Safety Committee and supports the overall health and safety function of the facility.
To be considered for this important role at TCU Place, please ensure your resume displays:

  • Successful completion of a Department of Justice recognized security guard course.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Social Work, Criminology, Psychology or Sociology would be considered an asset.
  • Three year's related security experience specifically in event / entertainment industry
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven supervisory experience and one year's experience working with a security camera system.
  • Successful completion of First Aid, AED and CPR Level C is required.
