Accounts Receivable and Collections Representative - Concord, Canada - National Fire Equipment Ltd.
Description
We are hiring an experienced Accounts Receivable and Collections Representative to join our Finance Team.This individual reports to the Corporate Credit Manager and will work closely with the Corporate Controller.
The Accounts Receivable and Collections Representative will manage customer accounts and ensure that all Accounts Receivable and Collection activities are carried out promptly and effectively.
They will be required to use excellent communication and negotiation skills to ensure that customers meet their payment obligations while maintaining a positive relationship with them.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Contact customers to collect payments in accordance with payment due dates while adhering to established requirements and internal controls.
- Ensure timely collection of outstanding receivables to meet collection objectives.
- Analyze delinquent accounts and prepare reports on highrisk accounts, determine, and implement appropriate collection strategies to maximize collections.
- Communicate with management and escalate concerns to address issues to ensure timely collections and avoiding further deficiencies or collection risks.
- Provide recommendations to management on customer payment trends and issues.
- Work closely with other departments to resolve billing and payment issues.
- Regular review and reconciliation of customer accounts to allow for an accurate account status.
- Maintain a positive customer relationship providing the highest level of professionalism and courtesy towards customers.
- Complete other Accounts Receivable and collection responsibilities, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-Secondary Education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum three (3) years direct experience with Collections or general Accounting
Functions:
- Experience in the Construction industry with knowledge of collection laws will be an asset.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage workload in a fastpaced environment with competing deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, with an emphasis on accuracy and quality.
- High level of planning and organizational skill, able to prioritize and meet specific time sensitive deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to articulate in a clear and effective manner.
- Outgoing personality with the ability to work within a team environment.
