Harvard Developments has an immediate opening for a qualified Building Operator to join its team in Regina.

This position is required to work in various downtown office buildings attending to vacation and absence relief for a team of building operators, as well as assisting with customer service, extraordinary repairs and preventive maintenance during periods when all personnel are present; and providing an exceptional customer experience throughout the portfolio; and ensuring the properties are well cared for and maintained in a safe and environmentally conscious manner.

While scheduled for absence relief, the Itinerant Building Operator will:
Respond to customer service requests within standards established for safety, comfort, cleanliness, responsiveness, follow up and communication;

  • Operate the building's automation, mechanical and electrical systems;
  • Maintain positive supplier relationships while overseeing contracted services such as cleaning, HVAC, grounds, snow removal, etc.
  • Carry out the planned maintenance program for the properties; and
  • Assist the management team to achieve its customer, financial and organizational objectives.

What you will bring to the job:

  • A high level of commitment to serving customers with availability to respond 2 hours a day; as well as participate in the on-call rotation.
  • A valid 5th Class power engineering certificate of competency or higher and driver's license with clean abstract, preferably also with training in WHMIS, First Aid/CPR and workplace safety.
  • A mechanical inclination with practiced motor skills and capacity to perform physical work.
  • Proficiency in the English language, both written and oral, as well as strong listening and collaborative skills that enable positive and beneficial relationships.
  • Good computer literacy with experience using digital devices.
  • A working knowledge of general workplace safety practices and requirements; and
  • The ability to work independently or collaboratively as circumstances may dictate, using personal initiative and sound judgment to achieve purchasing guidelines, maintenance schedules and budget.
