Job Title:
Commercial Sales Manager (Retail)


Reports to:
Director - Sales & Marketing


We are currently seeking an adaptable, successful, and experienced Commercial Sales Manager for our Retail division as we increase our market share in North America.

In this role, you will be responsible for the success of our expansion into the North American retail market.

Position Responsibilities:


  • Assume overall responsibility for retail sales and management functions for the Canadian and U.S. retail business operations.
  • Generate new leads by coldcalling, trade visits, online searches, to generate volume, revenue and profits.
  • Develop, administer, and maintain a comprehensive sales and marketing program that ensures continued growth and industry leadership.
  • Demonstrate and encourage teamwork and cooperation with all members of the retail sales and production group and with other divisions within ETG Food Products Inc.
  • Work with senior management to establish annual sales and expense budgets.
  • Provide regular reporting on sales and marketing activities in all locations on an ongoing basis and other presentations as requested from time to time.
  • Establish, with the assistance of the Director of Sales & Marketing, certain performance goals such as sales and profit margins.
  • Implement strategic planning including market and competitive analysis, customer segment selection and penetration plans, and related product positioning.
  • Define marketing programs for demand creation, lead generation.
  • Oversee and manage marketing requirements for retail including branding, advertising, white and private label, trade shows, consumer shows or sample drop offs, seminars and events collateral materials, analyst, and market research management.
  • Oversee product management including market and customer research for market and product requirements, interface with engineering for product development, product pricing and product lifecycle management.
  • Work with the Director of Sales & Marketing, COO, and the other executive team members to identify and develop strategic alliances, raise venture/public financing, communicate with members, and close/grow major customer accounts.
  • Develop and implement quarterly and/or annual sales plans, policies, and programs for all sales representatives and business development managers.
  • Conduct analysis to manage retail sales performance against corporate objectives and market developments.
  • Develop and implement distribution strategies, reselling agreements, and other growth opportunities.
  • Create product segmentation strategies where needed to maximize business opportunities across various sales channels.
  • Develop, manage, and nurture new business accounts and partnerships to accomplish profit and volume goals.
  • Maximize relationships with key retail business partners.
  • Conduct regular analysis on pricing effectiveness and recurring trends; create actionable item lists based on findings.
  • Travel 2025%.
  • Other responsibilities as required or assigned.

Employment Qualification and Requirements:


  • Business Degree in Sales & Marketing or equivalent to other relevant fields
  • 35 years of CPG sales experience
  • Ability to plan and manage at both strategic and operational levels
  • You have a keen analytical sense for insights and data interpretation
  • Exceptional track record of developing and implementing marketing and sales strategies that have consistently met or exceeded planned objectives, providing personal leadership through example
  • Exceptionally well organized and driven by success

Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree (preferred)

Experience:


  • Retail sales: 5 years (required)
