Environmental Lead to join its dynamic and energetic team.
Dragados Canada was established in 2008 and has grown steadily into an industry-leader in Canada, with offices in Toronto, Vancouver, and Montreal, successfully performing a variety of large-scale transportation, bridge, dam, tunnel, and other major infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the soil and excavated material and dewatering strategy as the Qualified Person (QP) for the project
- Work collaboratively with design and construction teams on soil and excavated material and dewatering management on building strong environmental awareness and stewardship
- Manage and supervise third party environmental consultants' assessments and review reports
- Regular review the Soil and Excavated Material Management Plan and Groundwater
- Management and Dewatering Plan and update as required in consultation with design consultant
- Prepare monthly soil and water dashboard and QP certification reports
- Manage the maintenance of the soil and water tracking software
- Liaise with soil and water receiving facilities as required
- Lead the soil and water discussions during environmental working group meetings with designers and client
- Ability to framing strategic direction, setting standards, policies, and expectations in relation to Excess Soil management and overall Environmental direction of the organization.
- Environmental management and direction by developing and implementing effective and operational friendly policies and procedures throughout all business areas that interface with environmental management
- Leadership skills, guidance and support to the environmental team and other discipline leaders
- Collaborate and work with the HSE Department and Operational teams on building strong Environmental awareness and stewardship
- Promote environmental stewardship/risk management to staff and subcontractors
- Perform other jobrelated duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or any other relevant field
- Knowledge of environmental legislation in Ontario, particularly Ontario Regulation 153/04 and 406/1
- Knowledge of construction site erosion and sediment controls and Best Management Practices
- 510 years of experience in the delivery/management of Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments and/or Soil Characterization Reports
- Experience in the construction industry will be a strong asset
- Experience in developing, implementing, monitoring, and tracking environmental practices and performance
- Availability to respond to emergency situation at night
- Proficient with MS Office
- Excellent organizational and time management skills and the ability to work on multiple priorities simultaneously
- Ability to effectively prioritize, manage and communicate issues in a fastpaced environment
