Summary

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Execute duties in accordance with ITIL framework guidelines
  • Install, configure, and update hardware, software, network, and peripheral devices for the dental offices and staff of CDS.
  • Manage and administer servers and systems to ensure system integrity
  • Assemble and load servers with the Hyper-V role, understanding how networking and storage works with Hyper-V
  • Coordinate the troubleshooting and the support calls with external providers
  • Manage the preparation of technical and functional documentations for required systems
  • Completion of Standard Operating Procedures for relevant servers and systems
  • Perform root cause analysis of complex server system problems and provide corrective action
  • Proactively monitor backups and server logs
  • Work through alerts raised by alert software for proactive fixing
  • Participate in regular staff meetings, staff training programs, supervisory sessions, and accept the responsibility for aiding the development of positive team relationships as requested
  • Identify single points of failure and to work out Disaster Recovery plans
  • Stay informed of latest technology and work with the Management team on potential upgrades

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College Diploma or University Degree in Computer Science or equivalency in education/experience
  • 5+ years working in a similar role
  • MCP, MCSE, MCITP, CompTIA Server + or other related certificates an asset
  • Experience with servers, printers, and standardized network system
  • Strong written and oral communication skills along with the ability to develop and sustain positive customer relationships
  • Strong attention to detail along with effective analytical, problem solving, and decisionmaking skills
  • The ability to prioritize and work well under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Proficient with Windows operating systems
  • Ability to perform occasional physical work including lifting heavy objects
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work outside of normal business hours when required
  • Previous experience in a dental/healthcare environment considered an asset
  • Expertise in MSP360 Backup Solution is an asset.
