POSITION OVERVIEW:
Provide trauma informed care, support, crisis intervention, and lead programs to help residents make informed healthy decisions for their own life.
AREA OF DUTIES:
Leading programming (fitness, nutrition, mindfulness, etc.) in a residential setting. Responsible for documenting and helping residents follow individual safety and support plans.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provide trauma informed care in a residential setting
- Provide one on one support to residents
- Utilize Crisis intervention and deescalation techniques
- Attend meetings and training as requested by the Program Director
- Lead programs (fitness, nutrition, mindfulness, etc.)
- Work from and antioppressive and antiracism lens
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- CYW, SSW, BSW, IDEV or behavioral science education is an asset
- Experience working in a women's shelter, a licensed substance treatment program, trauma informed care program, post traumatic stress program or equivalent combination of training
- Experience working in a crosscultural setting
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong conflict management skills, risk assessment & safety planning
- Ability to facilitate fitness groups, lead programming and model healthy living
- CPR level C and First Aid Training (current to date)
- Second language an asset

Experience:
- Residential: 1 year (preferred)
