Position Summary


Do you have experience in health research and want to be more involved in the administration/facilitation side? Are you passionate about having a meaningful impact? We invite you to join our team as a
Research Platform Administrator and play a pivotal role in driving excellence in the operations of our online provincial research platform - REACH BC.

As a member of our team, you will offer service and support to health researchers, patients, and members of the public, utilizing your specialized expertise.


In this multifaceted position, you will oversee the backend administrative web portal of REACH BC, manage accounts, assist researchers in drafting compelling research project summaries, train and onboard researchers onto the platform and collect metrics for reporting.

You will serve as the primary point of contact for platform users, offering comprehensive assistance in accessing and navigating the system.

You will also be responsible for providing exceptional customer support for our volunteers and the public. Technical challenges will pose no hurdle for you as you adeptly troubleshoot and resolve issues, guaranteeing seamless user experiences.

Your exceptional interpersonal skills, critical thinking abilities, and meticulous attention to detail will be invaluable in driving the success of this dynamic role.

About REACH BC


REACH BC, an initiative of Michael Smith Health Research BC, is an online provincial platform that connects members of the public with health research opportunities taking place throughout British Columbia.


REACH BC serves as a valuable resource for both the public and researchers, facilitating the matching of individuals interested in participating in health research with relevant studies and clinical trials happening across the province.


Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for REACH BC platform administrative operations, including:
  • Support users (members of the public and researchers) in accessing and navigating the platform
  • Provide technical support to users of the platform, troubleshooting issues and resolving technical problems
  • Develop effective educational resources, including written materials and tutorial videos
  • Train researchers on website and platform use to support them to post their research opportunities, providing live demonstrations over Zoom
  • Help script and cowrite study purpose and study title text for REACH BC platform
  • Assist researchers with the Research Ethics Board (REB) recruitment approval process to use REACH BC
  • Manage the backend administrative web portal to review and approve research projects to be posted on the REACH BC website
  • Perform quality control/assurance with a high level of detail including identifying gaps and opportunities in development of the platform
  • Manage and maintain the integrity of research data on the platform
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and privacy policies
