Construction Quality Control Technician - St. Catharines, Canada - Rankin Construction Inc.
Description
Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Build and maintain quality control processes and procedures
- Conduct construction inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards
- Perform quality inspections on finished products to ensure they meet specifications
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to minimize defects
- Monitor and track quality metrics to drive continuous improvement efforts
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Asphalt paving and best practices knowledge of production methods
- experience sampling asphalt and checking field compaction
- diagnosing issues in the field (both with paving operation to possible plant issues with asphalt being shipped)
- familiarity with plant production facility very valuable
- knowledge of asphalt mix design and specifications
- experience preparing aggregate samples for mix design
- experience in MTO quality programs - asphalt, concrete, soils/granular specifications (ie OPSS's)
- experience with MTO or similar quality programs for submissions
- experience on contracts requiring specification interpretation, and submitting deliverables
- concrete field testing, specimen preparation/curing, and compressive testing - concrete field testing certification a big bonus
- experience or knowledge of structures, esp reinforced concrete structures
- knowledge of drawings, specifications, and contracts
- granular specimen sampling and field compaction practices and testing
- aggregate lab experience or certification (grain sieve analysis, proctor testing)
- equipment maintenance - asphalt and concrete testing equipment cleaning and calibrating
- Ability to build and maintain quality control processes and procedures
- Experience in construction inspection, ensuring compliance with quality standards
- Proficient in conducting quality inspections on finished products
- Knowledge of quality control methodologies and tools
- Excellent problemsolving skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
