J.D. Barnes Limited is currently looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Articling Student or Junior O.L.S for our GUELPH location.

The Articling Individual will gain experience through multiple roles in the field and office and are also given the opportunity to work in a branch office as well as head office to increase their exposure and experience.

This position complies with the policies of the Ontario Land Surveyors Association, which is responsible for the licensing and governance of Professional Land Surveyors in accordance with the Surveyors Act.

Pay commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and check legal and topographic surveys
Assist with preparation of engineering and construction layouts (sewers, waterlines, curbing)
Assist with survey calculations and plan preparation
Maintain records of field notes and files related to the job
Prepare job estimates
Track job costs and prepare invoices
Provide client consultation
Other duties as required
