Catering Prep/event Chef - Vancouver, Canada - Edge Catering
Description
Edge Catering is an established, thriving corporate and event catering company. Our custom-built facility is in the East Village and features a Café, 5000sq ft. catering kitchen, baking and pastry kitchen, tasting room and offices.We are looking for an experienced cook to join our team.
General Responsibilities:
- Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required
- Prep event menus for buffets, family style and plated dinners
- Pack food for transportation
- Adapt to a changing work environment and custom menu items
- Integrate with our team and work environment
- Write and follow prep lists
- Organize and maintain freezers, fridges, event equipment and storage
- Maintenance and cleaning of all equipment and work spaces
- Offsite event work on a volunteer basis
- Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience as a cook or culinary school training
- FoodSafe level
- Legal to work in Canada (minimum 2 years on work permit)
This opportunity offers the potential for you to fulfill the role of an offsite Event Chef. This position operates on a voluntary basis, providing the flexibility for you to undertake additional shifts as desired. Gratuities will be included for any offsite event work being done.
Overtime pay for any hours worked beyond the standard work week will be paid in accordance with the employment regulations set forth by the BC Employment Standards Act.
