Job Summary


The Fund Development and Executive Associate is responsible for skillfully coordinating the day-to-day operations of a comprehensive fund development program for the Fraser Valley Child Development Centre while providing administrative support to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

This position reports directly to the Executive Director and is the primary staff support to the Board Fund Development Committee's efforts to grow and diversify community relations and sustainable resources.


Key Job Functions and Responsibilities:


  • Providing professional, timely and highquality support to the Executive Director and Board Committee's fundraising relationships and donor stewardship activities.
  • Proactively scanning the fundraising environment and researching, identifying, and cultivating a portfolio of donor prospects, including individuals, corporations, foundations, community groups and granting agencies.
  • Preparing compelling proposals, presentations and other communication materials for presentation by the Executive Director and Committee to donors, prospective donors and community partners.
  • Gathering fundraising and communications best practice policy and procedural guidance.
  • Coordinating the execution of a comprehensive annual strategic fundraising plan and budget to achieve growth targets.
  • Ensuring high quality information management and administrative processes are in place to support the fundraising program.
  • Preparing and maintaining plan reporting for achievement of annual revenue targets.
  • Organizing/analyzing results and making recommendations for program enhancements and growth.
  • Providing administrative support to the Executive Director including calendar management, coordinating meeting logistics, and drafting/proofreading meeting minutes and correspondence.
  • Proactively engaging with leadership and staff in planning and organizing events and activities. Coordinating logistics including booking venues and arranging catering, technology, speakers, communication, materials, and evaluation.
  • Organizing meetings for the leadership team and board of directors, attending meetings, coordinating refreshments as required, organizing meeting materials, and drafting/proofreading minutes.
  • Building and cultivating internal and external relationships and presenting a positive and professional image.

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • High degree of professionalism and ethical practice
  • Working knowledge of fundraising and donor relations sector, trends and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and executive events
  • Exceptional communication skills written, verbal, presentation
  • Service orientation and passion for the mission of the Fraser Valley Child Development Centre
  • Strong selfinitiative with superior organizational, administrative and analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong time management skills with ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks and assignments, meet deadlines, and ensure high quality work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships in a strengthsbased, culturally safe, traumainformed, inclusive environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in the field of services to children, youth and families would be an asset.

Working Conditions


The Fund Development and Executive Associate is a full-time position (1.0 FTE) in Abbotsford within a strong value-based organizational culture.
