WHAT THE JOB LOOKS LIKE:


The family support worker/key worker will function as a member of the multidisciplinary early intervention team to provide family support services including families whose children and youth have complex behavioral needs or FASD.

The family support worker/key worker participates in family interviews, intake visits and gathers collateral information in order to evaluate the need for service and the nature of the problem(s) as it relates to the needs of the family.

The family support worker/key worker will facilitate and advocate access to supportive resources in the community. The family support worker/key worker will also be involved in presenting educational opportunities for staff, families and community partners. Some evening work required.


POSITION TYPE:
Temporary, Part-Time (0.8 FTE), One Year Maternity Leave Coverage starting April 1, 2024, Hybrid


WHAT YOU NEED:


  • Bachelors in Social Work, Child and Youth Care or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years experience working in the field of pediatric disabilities
  • Training and experience in working with families under stress and in crisis
  • Valid BC driver's license with reliable use of a car for work
