The City of Abbotsford's Operations Department is seeking a self-motivated, hard-working individual to join their team as a temporary full time Equipment Operator IV on a 9-month term.

In this position, you will participate in skilled work in the operation, minor maintenance and services of a Street Sweeper.

As part of your role, you will operate the street sweeper, clean urban streets, rural intersections, bicycle paths and parking lots.

You will also clean, check and perform light servicing work on the unit driven on daily basis; adjust air brakes if required and perform weekly maintenance inspections.

Considerable knowledge of the methods, practices and tools used in minor servicing and maintenance of such equipment as well as knowledge of the rules of safe operation and precautions to be taken to avoid accidents in the operation of heavy equipment is essential in this position.

To be considered for this position, you must have:

Completion of Grade 1
One year experience in the operation, servicing and maintenance of a single or tandem axle truck.
Valid BC Class 3 Drivers License (with air)

This position is unionized, C.U.P.E Local 774, and the hourly rate of pay is from $28.59 per hour to $33.59 per hour.
