OVERVIEW


The Logistics Coordinator will work as a member of the Corporate Logistics team to manage the daily trucking capacity for sugar refineries and 3rd party warehouses utilizing the company's transportation management system (TMS).

The Coordinator will optimize current logistics processes and make recommendations for standardization as per our North American structure.

The Coordinator will monitor all carrier exceptions; including open future orders without assigned trucks and assisting ASR distribution team with refinery supply and customer changes.

KPI reporting & Budget adherence are key areas to monitor in order to drive success for this department.


DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation for ontime pickup and delivery by utilizing TMS, SAP and other business systems.
  • Lead and administrate all TMS related functions (Configuration, processes, maintenance and governance).
  • Manage refinery & 3PL warehouse truck order tendering via TMS;
  • Maintain the Customer Pick Up (CPU) inbox for TMS, responding to customer and carrier inquiries
  • Provide TMS training and support to carriers and customers
  • Redesign current daily appointment scheduling workflow
  • STO entry and deletions for all 3PL activity including the Belleville bulk stock moves.
  • Key player with the new drop lot for Bulk shipments at Pier 51 targeted for implementation in 2021 with utilization of Sharepoint
  • Monitor carrier load allocations to carrier daily & weekly capacities, take corrective action if needed.
  • Manage TMS load and rate exceptions and carrier changes with the corporate Freight Payables team
  • Track and trace expedited Pre-Paid customer orders to destination
  • Understanding of documentation requirements for cross border shipments, working with ASR Customs Broker on clearance of shipments and a general tariff understanding for products that get shipped outside of Canada. Work closely with ASR US and Belleville customs compliance departments.
  • Conduct Spot Rate bids for new lanes or expedited loads
  • Recover missed and late loads for refinery and 3PL and copackers including No shows, No accepted load, Give backs
  • Communicate with carriers on order changes
  • Facilitate OS&D and freight claims processes
  • Communicate and collaborate with CSR teams regarding customer requirements
  • Maintain and Govern the TMS configuration to include new functionality roll outs in the global TMS road map.
  • Analytics, Operational reporting, Network performance and KPI's for the region
  • KPI's include # loads planned & loaded daily, primary carrier/lane utilization, No-Show rate for PPD, Product cuts due to truck weight.

  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheets to include Pivot tables (Excel or equivalent) and database (MS Access or equivalent).
  • Technically inclined to rapidly learn new functionalities of complex information systems

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, supply chain/logistics, or other related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
