Trotter & Morton is seeking a
Project Coordinator for commercial mechanical projects. Our company is backed by extensive project experience and dedicated personnel.

Roles and Responsibilities

Assist the Project Manager with the following:

  • Perform tasks to coordinate the pre-development, pre-construction, construction, and close out phases of a project
  • Review, finalize, and distribute project budget with assistance from the Project Manager
  • Ensure all required permits and licenses are obtained and posted
  • Initiate setup, monitoring, and update of project schedule with project team
  • Ensure all required submittal review, processing and approvals, and submittal logs are setup and maintained
  • Develop, submit, and obtain approval of billing schedule of values
  • Price and process all change conditions and change work orders
  • Maintain all required change order logs
  • Perform continual cost control and management and forecasting for overall financial performance of assigned projects
  • Ensure all projects are closed out in an organized and timely manner
  • Conduct postcontraction closeout meetings for assigned projects
  • Build long term relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors
  • Attend prebid meetings as required
  • Calculate quantity takeoff detailing all the materials and supplies necessary for the contract to achieve specification
  • Coordinate the bid preparation with all inhouse departments i.e., Safety, Quality Assurance, Accounting, etc.
  • Liaise with suppliers and collect quotes on materials
  • Review, prepare, and submit Request for Quotation (RFQ)'s from vendors and subcontractors
  • Review takeoffs, checking for mathematical and technical accuracy
  • Follow up on tender closings with clients
  • Track actual costs against the estimate and identify possible improvements to processes
  • Price change orders
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager

Required Experience

  • Strong familiarity with projects within the mechanical scope
  • Completion of an Engineering Degree, CET, or Journeyman ticket is preferred
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience required, within construction industry

Additional Requirements

  • Travel may be required
