POSITION PURPOSE

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Acts as Technical Liaison for the development, implementation and maintenance of the development tracking system to meet stakeholder requirements.
  • Monitors system issues and coordinates resolution with ITS, as required.
  • Supports daily operations of the Region's Development Tracking System.

Monitors and coordinates an audit of system files and data to maintain systems data quality and ensure consistency and accuracy.


  • Supports distribution of automated reports; builds new reports and ensures that staff can run applicable reports for their business needs.
  • Ensures effective interface with other corporate systems ( GIS, BI, document management and repository, and business automation technologies both on premise and in cloud), in conjunction with ITS and DAV staff; ensuring standards are established and maintained, and consistency between databases is maintained and data transfer is accurate, timely and seamless.
  • Tests and evaluates system functionality and makes recommendations to management.
  • Coordinates and provides guidance during the User Acceptance Testing sessions (both inclass and individual sessions) with end user community to support established release cycle and summarizes results for evaluation.
  • Trains development tracking system users to use the system; develops and maintains training materials.
  • Collaborates and liaises with development community, internal and local municipal staff on appropriate use of development tracking systems, providing advice, guidance and expertise to ensure consistent and effective systems performance.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Successful completion of a Community College Diploma in Information Technology, computer Sciences or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience providing project implementation and support in database technology, database management and data integrity.
  • Strong communication skills, with particular emphasis on the ability to explain and document business procedures and processes, as they relate to the Development Planning System, to end users.
