About the Initiative
This role supports a pan-Canadian neuroinclusive employment initiative, funded in part by the Government of Canada's Youth Employment and Skills Strategy, and delivered in partnership with eight Fairmont Hotels across Canada. The initiative provides industry-specific training, paid internships, individualized job coaching, and employer capacity-building to improve employment outcomes for autistic youth and young adults, while advancing inclusive hiring practices across the hospitality sector.
The Role
The Inclusive Employment Specialist provides hands-on, individualized support to a cohort of 5 participants before, during, and after paid hotel internships. Working closely with participants, families, hospitality teams, and community partners, the Specialist supports job readiness, workplace integration, and sustained employment, while coaching employers on inclusive practices. This is a field-based role, embedded within hotel environments and local communities.
Key Responsibilities
Participant-Centered Support
Participate in participant outreach and recruitment in collaboration with local organizations
Conduct intake and employment readiness assessments
Develop and implement individualized support and intervention plans
Provide one-on-one job coaching before, during, and after internships
Lead a cohort of 5 participants through a 3-week, hotel-based employment preparedness program and a 50-hour paid internship
Monitor progress, adapt supports, and assist with transitions to employment or post-program services
Employer & Workplace Support
Support inclusive onboarding, training, and supervision in hotel settings
Coach employers on adjustments / accommodations, task adaptation, and communication strategies
Facilitate on-the-job mentorship between hotel staff and participants
Act as a liaison to proactively address workplace challenges
Training & Capacity Building
Deliver autism awareness and neurodiversity training for hospitality teams
Contribute to inclusive hiring, onboarding, and workplace support tools
Promote best practices in inclusive employment within service environments
Collaboration & Systems Navigation
Collaborate with families, community organizations, and provincial employment partners
Support transition to ongoing employment services through external partners once the project mandate concludes
Contribute to a replicable national model for neuroinclusive employment
Reporting & Accountability
Maintain accurate participant records and progress tracking
Complete required reporting and documentation
Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications
Required
Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent experience
Experience supporting autistic or neurodivergent individuals in employment, education, or community settings
Strong knowledge of inclusive employment practices, adjustments / accommodations, and strengths-based approaches
Experience working with employers or in workplace-based support roles
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills
Ability to work independently in dynamic, real-world environments
Strong organizational and documentation skills
Assets
Experience in hospitality, tourism, or service industries
Familiarity with vocational readiness or employment assessment tools
Experience delivering training or workshops to adult learners or employers
Bilingualism (English/French), depending on location

À propos de l'initiative
Ce poste s'inscrit dans le cadre d'une initiative pancanadienne en emploi neuroinclusif, financé en partie par le gouvernement du Canada par la biais de la Stratégie emploi et compétences jeunesse, et réalisée en partenariat avec 8 hôtels Fairmont à travers le Canada. L'initiative offre des formations sectorielles, des stages rémunérés, du coaching individualisé en emploi et un accompagnement des employeurs afin d'améliorer les résultats en emploi des jeunes et jeunes adultes autistes, tout en faisant progresser les pratiques d'embauche inclusive dans le secteur de l'hôtellerie.
Le rôle
Le ou la spécialiste en emploi inclusif offre un accompagnement pratique et individualisé à une cohorte de cinq participant·e·s avant, pendant et après des stages rémunérés en milieu hôtelier. En collaboration étroite avec les participant·e·s, les familles, les équipes hôtelières et les partenaires communautaires, la personne titulaire du poste soutient la préparation à l'emploi, l'inclusion en milieu de travail et le maintien en emploi, tout en accompagnant les employeurs dans l'adoption de pratiques inclusives. Il s'agit d'un poste terrain, intégré directement dans des environnements hôteliers et les communautés locales.
Principales responsabilités
Soutien centré sur les participant·e·s
Participer aux activités de sensibilisation et de recrutement des participant·e·s en collaboration avec des organismes locaux
Réaliser les admissions et les évaluations de préparation à l'emploi
Élaborer et mettre en œuvre des plans d'intervention et de soutien individualisés
Offrir du coaching individuel avant, pendant et après les stages
Accompagner une cohorte de cinq participant·e·s dans un programme de préparation à l'emploi de trois semaines en milieu hôtelier, suivi d'un stage rémunéré de 50 heures
Assurer le suivi de la progression, ajuster les soutiens et faciliter les transitions vers l'emploi ou des services post-programme
Soutien aux employeurs et aux milieux de travail
Appuyer l'intégration, la formation et la supervision inclusives en milieu hôtelier
Accompagner les employeurs dans la mise en place d'ajustements et d'accommodements, l'adaptation des tâches et les stratégies de communication
Faciliter le mentorat en milieu de travail entre le personnel hôtelier et les participant·e·s
Agir comme personne-ressource afin d'anticiper et de résoudre les enjeux en milieu de travail
Formation et développement des capacités
Offrir des formations en sensibilisation à l'autisme et à la neurodiversité aux équipes hôtelières
