We are currently looking for an
Integration Specialist to supplement our dynamic team in a
Permanent position. Reporting to the IT Operations lead, the Integration Specialist will be responsible for installation and support of the Oracle Fusion Middleware and related components following the Nova Scotia Power methodologies and architecture principles.

As a member of Nova Scotia Power's IT Team, you will join an energetic group of responsive professionals providing IT services to the Emera group of Canadian companies.


  • Answer customer questions regarding product usage.
  • Recognize and identify potential areas where existing business policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, and make recommendations.
  • Perform project and operational tasks with good overall quality, while being able to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Perform asset management tasks including technical reviews, development and testing of disaster recovery plans and business impact analysis.
  • Maintain relationships with business partners and system users.
  • Provide afterhours support.


You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of your co-workers by observing all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.


Furthermore, you will bring:

  • In depth working knowledge of Java and opensource software (JDK, J2EE, JSON, RESTful & SOAP web services, Eclipse, ANT, and Junit).
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Fusion middleware.
  • Administration experience with WebLogic.
  • Administration experience with Oracle SOA Suite.
  • Administration experience with Oracle Service Bus (OSB).
  • Working knowledge of Oracle patching methodologies
  • Experience working in a Unix/Linux environment.

Bonus points:

  • Administration experience with OHS/MFT/ODI, including architecture experience would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in design & development of an enterprise level SOA or middleware platform would be considered an asset.


You must have the ability to work in a fluid team environment with five (5) years' experience in project delivery and middleware support involving multi-tiered systems integration.

Strong analytical, conceptual, and critical thinking skills are required as well as strong verbal, written and people skills. You are comfortable with various project management methodologies. You have the ability to develop trusting relationships, communicate effectively, and provide valued guidance to ensure success.
