Role


The ACD Copy is responsible for ensuring that the work is on strategy, contributes to growing the Client's business, and creates a comprehensive copy platform for assigned accounts.

Above all, an ACD Copy must possess a highly refined level of professional writing skill and creative thinking, exemplified by past samples of work.

An ACD Copy is expected to partner with an ACD Art and function autonomously from the Creative Director on a day-to-day basis but, should the CD be unavailable, the expectation is that the ACD Copy can seamlessly take over and ensure no disruption in the accounts' workflow.

The ACD Copy must also supervise a team of writers that may vary in size depending on the number of accounts they are responsible for.

This includes overseeing their work as well and providing ongoing feedback on their performance to ensure alignment and growth.


Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of Client's business, and develop positive, productive relationships with all members of both the Client and Agency teams
  • Demonstrate understanding of market research to create test materials and be an effective research attendee, and share learnings with team
  • Partner with Account/Strategy/Medical to develop proactive recommendations in anticipation of market events (ie, launch of new competitors, new data, new campaigns, societal/cultural events)
  • Stay abreast of creative trends and collaborate with CX team to recommend new technologies/social media approaches to grow business
  • Maintain positive relationships with internal business group departments such as Editorial, Studio, UX, Art, and Account
  • Oversee work for Medical/Legal/Regulatory approvals, with an understanding of compliance with relevant regulations
  • Proven ability to accurately reference and annotate all work
  • Understand and interpret medical and scientific information that pertains to Agency brands
  • Copywriting for HCP and DTC/P tactics
  • Effective presenter: clearly communicate creative concepts and sell Agency work to both clients and new business prospects

  • Demonstrate good problemsolving and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrate ability to set priorities while handling multiple projects and delegate work appropriately
  • Foster a positive team atmosphere demonstrating respect for peers and supervisors
  • Oversee the execution of theirs and their team's work

Qualifications:


  • University degree
  • Knowledge, background, and/or interest in science and medicine
  • 8+ years of healthcare copywriting experience, including HCP tactics
  • 34 years of supervisory experience
  • Ability to understand clinical studies and translate scientific concepts into persuasive marketing materials
  • Strong knowledge of agency/copy/editorial process
  • Copywriter portfolio, or "spec" portfolio demonstrating strong creative abilities
  • Familiarity with Canadian, US, and global regulatory requirements
  • Excellent oral communication and presentation skills
