    Scope of Position
Reporting to the Manager-Planning & Operations Analysis, the Production Planner is responsible for scheduling and coordinating flow of work within or between departments of manufacturing plant to expedite production


Other duties include:

  • Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to daily and weekly production schedules.
  • Reviewing production schedules; conferring with department manager to determine progress of work and completion dates and solving problems.
  • Develop contingency plans for tracking if any orders are behind production schedule.
  • Act as a liaison between departments.
  • Works closely with the Procurement team to ensure delivery dates and targets align to MPS.
  • Review Itag disposition and ensure MPS is aligned to nonconformance disposition.
  • Interacts with shop floor management on a daily basis to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies.
  • Establish and review the master production schedule and support daily priorities for specific areas
  • Create and deliver Aircraft scorecard by assigning root cause and corrective actions to cross functional teams.
  • Lead and participate in cross functional teams to identify and drive efficiency gains throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by Manager.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as master schedules, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effectively communicate with associates and internal and external customers in person and via telephone, verbally and nonverbally to accomplish necessary objectives.
  • Ability to deal with added day to day issues and concerns.

Experience

  • 3 5 years' experience in planning and scheduling.
  • Ability to learn technical material to accomplish necessary objectives.
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of the production functions within an organization.
  • Demonstrate ability to multitask several priorities and possess solid time management skills.
  • Working knowledge in MS Office including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or Postsecondary education with equivalent experience in production planning.
