Job description


We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our culinary team as a Kitchen Helper with a specialization in appetizers.

As a Kitchen Helper, you will play a vital role in supporting our chefs and ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen.

In addition to general kitchen responsibilities, you will focus on assisting the chefs in preparing a variety of appetizers to delight our guests' palates.


Responsibilities:


Appetizer Preparation:

  • Collaborate with the chefs to prepare a wide range of appetizers, adhering to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
  • Assist in the chopping, slicing, and dicing of ingredients required for appetizer preparation.
  • Help in assembling, garnishing, and plating appetizers in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, ensuring consistency and adherence to our restaurant's culinary vision.

Kitchen Assistance:

  • Support the chefs and kitchen staff in various tasks, such as ingredient preparation, cooking, and dishwashing, as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring that all equipment, utensils, and workstations are properly sanitized and ready for use.
  • Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, rotating stock, and keeping track of inventory to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment and prevent food contamination.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Foster effective communication and teamwork with the chefs, line cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth coordination and efficient workflow.
  • Take instructions from the chefs and follow recipes, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in the preparation of appetizers.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify areas for improvement and contribute ideas for menu development, presentation, and kitchen efficiency.

Cleanliness and Maintenance:

  • Regularly clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of storage areas, refrigerators, and freezers.
  • Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the kitchen management promptly.

Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fastpaced environment.
  • A team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
