Job description
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our culinary team as a Kitchen Helper with a specialization in appetizers.
As a Kitchen Helper, you will play a vital role in supporting our chefs and ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen.
In addition to general kitchen responsibilities, you will focus on assisting the chefs in preparing a variety of appetizers to delight our guests' palates.
Responsibilities:
Appetizer Preparation:
- Collaborate with the chefs to prepare a wide range of appetizers, adhering to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Assist in the chopping, slicing, and dicing of ingredients required for appetizer preparation.
- Help in assembling, garnishing, and plating appetizers in an aesthetically pleasing manner.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, ensuring consistency and adherence to our restaurant's culinary vision.
Kitchen Assistance:
- Support the chefs and kitchen staff in various tasks, such as ingredient preparation, cooking, and dishwashing, as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring that all equipment, utensils, and workstations are properly sanitized and ready for use.
- Assist in receiving and storing deliveries, rotating stock, and keeping track of inventory to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
- Follow proper food handling and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment and prevent food contamination.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Foster effective communication and teamwork with the chefs, line cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure smooth coordination and efficient workflow.
- Take instructions from the chefs and follow recipes, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in the preparation of appetizers.
- Collaborate with colleagues to identify areas for improvement and contribute ideas for menu development, presentation, and kitchen efficiency.
Cleanliness and Maintenance:
- Regularly clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of storage areas, refrigerators, and freezers.
- Monitor and report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the kitchen management promptly.
Qualifications:
- Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fastpaced environment.
- A team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
