    About the Controller Position at a Canadian Consumer Goods Manufacturer:

    Join the ML6 team to work closely with a renowned Canadian consumer goods manufacturer seeking a dedicated Controller. This role involves overseeing the financial operations of the facility, from budgeting to providing essential financial insights to the management team.

    Your Responsibilities:

    • Developing the annual manufacturing budget and creating reports for cost comparison
    • Collaborating across teams and leading a dedicated financial team
    • Analyzing income statements and variances in detail
    • Acting as a financial advisor to the management
    • Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards
    • Providing financial guidance and statistics to the leadership
    • Supervising accounting tasks, including payroll and accounts payable
    • Managing monthly financial closures and preparing manufacturing cost reports
    • Overseeing adherence to regulatory reporting requirements
    • Monitoring brand cost allocations and involvement in capital projects

    Requirements for Success:

    • 8-10 years of experience in accounting and business, with a focus on senior finance or controller roles
    • Direct involvement in manufacturing environments and expertise in plant operations and cost accounting
    • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business/Commerce; CPA or CMA certification a plus
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP, and accounting software
    • Background in auditing and knowledge of internal controls
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills for handling sensitive situations
    • Strong analytical capabilities and strategic decision-making skills
    • Demonstrated accountability, judgment, and goal achievement
    • Essential competencies in integrity, collaboration, teamwork, problem-solving, and customer focus
