The Pharmacy Technician works with pharmacists, nurses, physicians and other health professionals to achieve a high standard of drug distribution for inpatients and outpatients.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Regulated Technician Status in good standing with Ontario College of Pharmacists
Related work experience in a hospital setting would be an asset
WHO YOU ARE:
Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic techniques, hospital pharmacy practice and pharmacy dispensing.
Excellent working knowledge of generic names and pharmacological classification of drugs.
Demonstrated knowledge of drug distribution and record keeping.
Demonstrated ability to calculate concentrations, dilutions and quantities to compound products.
Demonstrated ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and use good judgement.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with patients, co-workers, nurses, physicians and
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Intermediate computer skills and accurate data entry skills.
Demonstrated enthusiasm, initiative and a high level of quality and attention to detail in a previous work experience.
Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and quality assurance/improvement.
Must be customer focused/driven
