  • Here is what you will be doing:
  • Leadership Develops logic models and/or program theories of change to describe the scope and impact of complex programs/initiatives and to ensure measurement approaches are integrated and connected between programs/initiatives across the organization.-
  • Creates program/project-specific measurement plans, evaluation plans and develops corresponding indicators.-
  • Establishes and leads working groups and committees of senior leaders and decision-makers, clinicians, external partners, and other stakeholders to inform and execute measurement strategies, analyses and reporting.-
  • Considers the full complement of quantitative and qualitative methods and makes and justifies decisions on the combination of methods that will provide the information required for strategic decision making, while also considering pragmatic choices and resources.-
  • Facilitates and participates in knowledge sharing activities within Ontario Health and externally with academic and non-academic audiences.-
  • Builds capacity and provides coaching, mentoring and thought leadership to the organization.-
  • Works collaboratively with Digital Excellence in Health, Legal and Privacy, Enterprise Data and Analytics, Procurement and others to acquire new software, data collection tools, and technologies that meet our expanding analytic needs while ensuring they meet Ontario Health's standard for security and data protection.
  • Subject Matter Expertise
  • Designs high quality rigorous analyses, translates analytical results into meaningful and actionable information; produces reports, briefing notes, presentations; participates in knowledge transfer to all levels of the organization.-
  • Applies and establishes best practice analytic methods and develops and validates new applied research methods as required.
  • Program Operations
  • Manages multiple projects of varying complexities, develops project plans and determines timelines, resource requirements, risks and impact.-
  • Identifies, manages, and escalates risks and issues as needed.-
  • Proactively identifies and implements quality improvement activities in the program.-
  • Manages intake and scheduling of new projects in consultation with the Senior Decision Scientist and other team leads-
  • Contributes to the assessment and improvement of team culture and employee engagement.
  • Here is what you will need to be successful:
  • Education and Experience
  • Master's degree (PhD preferred) in Epidemiology, Health Services Research, Statistics, Biostatistics, Health Informatics, Computer Science, or recognized equivalent or combination of education and work experience is required.-
  • Minimum five years work experience or combination of work/education experience in quantitative epidemiological or health services research analyses, with similar involvement in leading, designing, implementing, and analyzing quantitative, mixed methods, or evaluation projects.-
  • Experience coding in programming/statistical languages of SAS and SQL is required.-
  • Experience coding in R or Python is an asset.-
  • Experience with national and provincial healthcare administrative and clinical datasets including CIHI Discharge Abstract Database, CIHI National Ambulatory Care Reporting System and the Ontario Cancer Registry is required.-
  • Experience in statistical modelling or advanced analytics (e.g., regression analysis, survival analysis, cluster analysis, longitudinal analysis, principal component analysis, and factor analysis).-
  • Ability to interpret measures of effect (e.g., odds ratios, hazard ratios, risk ratios, etc.) in the appropriate context and to inform actionable insights.-
  • Experience in palliative care in an asset.
  • Knowledge and Skills
  • An understanding of Ontario's health care system with particular emphasis on measurement principles.-
  • Experience with common healthcar
