About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Principal Investigator (PIs) and under the direction of the Cardiology Research Manager, the Research Coordinator (Registered Nurse) is responsible for the coordination of Heart Rhythm and Heart Function Research projects conducted within Research & Innovation, NSHealth Central Zone. This coordination includes the management of study administration (including contract negotiations and financial management) for multiple studies/clinical trials, caring for the subjects participating in the studies, and the management of documents and data collected throughout the study period. The Research Coordinator works within a collaborative Research Team environment offering a flexible work schedule.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

Graduate of an accredited Nursing school
Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN)
CCRP (Certified Clinical Research Professional) or equivalent an asset
Two years of experience in Nursing preferred
Demonstrated clinical and assessment skills related to the scope required for a particular study and participant population (i.e. CPR, IV insertion, physical, mental and emotional assessment, performs electrocardiograms, phlebotomy, etc.).
Knowledge of nursing standards, protocols as required in area of research
Proficiency in specialized technology programs related to the study
Effective interpersonal, communication and teaching skills
Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
Effective research and analytical thinking skills
Strong negotiation, conflict resolution and rapport-building skills
Ability to work well independently as well as within a multidisciplinary team environment
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint), email and internet
Clinical experience in the relevant division an asset
Previous research experience an asset

Hours

This is a permanent, full-time position starting July (subject to change)

Compensation and Incentives

$ $50.19 Hourly ($78, - $97, Annually)
