Product Owner - Mobile Apps for Video

At Avid, Product Owners represent the voice of the customer and interact daily with the engineering development team as product workflow experts.

Product Owners are members of the Product Management team and share responsibility for the success of their product line.


RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
<>-<>-<>-<>-Understand and communicate our customers end-to-end workflows and translate them into actionable product requirements to deliver features that enable, streamline and delight users with power, while hiding complexity

• Maintain a thorough understanding of our customers' needs and bring the voice of the customer to the table as the primary rationale and argument for development priorities and decisions.
• Ensure that the team is delivering a continuously improving customer experience, bringing innovative new approaches to product delivery and creating customer value.
• Act as an active stakeholder in the development team, and represent the product on behalf of the team when opportunities arise with customers, partners, and management
• Understand how good software is developed, how highfunctioning engineering teams work, and how important quality and the related agile technical practices are to sustain a high velocity release cadence
• Work with Product Management to manage products through Avid's Product Lifecycle Management process, involving both strategic planning and tactical execution, and covering all stages, from initial product concept and definition, through implementation, release, and ultimately end of life planning.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• 2+ years designing products for a mobile app development + deep knowledge of iOS and Android platforms web and mobile web
• Knowledge of a Video and Post Workflows for TV, Film, Post and Music both Pro and Semi Levels a strong plus
• 36 years of directly applicable experience as a product owner in a software organization
• Strong knowledge of agile development practices (especially Scrum and / or Kanban), methodologies and tools
• Direct handson experience with writing user stories and epics, grooming product backlogs and coordinating/prioritizing conflicting requirements in a fast paced, everchanging environment
• Excellent teamwork, written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and userfriendly language
• Proven management of complex product development cycles and highly technical solutions
• Ability to empathize with customer/user needs and develop new approaches to complex design problems; excellent knowledge of usercenter design principles
• Experience with Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) standards and industry best practices around mobile device support automation, processes and overall mobile device management
• Experience or strong understanding of AI/ML and how they can be applied to add value and solve postproduction and delivery workflow challenges.
• Strong understanding of technology enabled business, digital and organizational transformations, delivering enterprise IT and Digital projects
• Occasional Travel (10%) to customer and noncustomer sites worldwide may be required
