Production Supervisor, Test and Trials.


Qualifications:


  • Education Required:
o Completion of relevant post-secondary education, electrical engineering preferred.

o Completion of relevant Red Seal trades certification or equivalent experience.

  • Experience: 5+ years in one of, or a combination of, the following:
o Electrical engineering.


o Commissioning naval or commercial ships in a new construction program, or comparable experience in naval ship modernization and overhaul.

o Commissioning high tech systems in process or power plants.

o Seagoing naval or commercial engineering experience

o Production Supervisor, Production Work Lead, Chargehand or trades work experience in a Marine/Industrial/Shipbuilding environment.

  • Applicants should have a proven record of managing work in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Experience mentoring, training and/or coaching.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with Computers. Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, Kronos, Aviva considered an asset.
  • Problem solving skills and ability to lead and manage multiple priorities in a fastpace environment.
  • All successful applicants must meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)._

Key Responsibilities:


  • Supervise and lead multiskilled crew of unionized trades team members to execute the test, settowork, trials, commissioning, troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment and systems onboard new construction and ship repair areas.
  • Ensure work is progressing safely, efficiently and correctly in accordance with ship build schedule.
  • Coordinate scheduled and unscheduled work activities within the Trials team and with Production team counterparts.
  • Recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
  • Train crew members in job duties, safety procedures and company policies.
  • Performance Manage assigned crew members.
  • Complete daily time entry for assigned crew members.
  • Prepare production and other reports.
  • Ensure compliance with all Company Environmental, Health and Safety policies.
  • Ensure strict adherence to Company quality procedures and policies.
