Job Summary

Education

  • A postsecondary degree in Social Science, Health Science, Public Health, Human Service or Public/Business Administration or related discipline
  • A project management certification (PMP or CAPM) or graduate diploma, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience is preferred

Knowledge:


  • At least 3 years of experience with grant administration and knowledge of collective impact and community development principles
  • Experience working with Federal/Provincial agencies on grant management
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience with project management
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders
  • Possess strong facilitation and presentation skills; and, be able to translate knowledge to a wide range of audiences
  • Experience with qualitative research and analysis; and strong organization skills and an ability to facilitate meetings and group processes
  • A high level of political acuity, strategic thinking and an ability to work independently and as part of multistakeholder team
  • Highly proficient in both program and strategic planning methodologies; performance measurement and evaluation
  • Outstanding oral/written communication skills, advanced analytical and problem solving skills
  • An understanding of community safety and wellbeing planning and knowledge of a wide range of health and human service policy environments and legislation contexts
  • A broad understanding of the human services sector; and familiarity with Niagara's nonprofit/charitable sector, including working in the children and youth sector violence/crime prevention, or community safety and wellbeing initiatives

Responsibilities:


_ Project Facilitation, Collaboration and Relationship-Building (40% of time)_:

  • Lead a BSCF Action Table to provide guidance into the community consultation, research and identification of criteria associated with disseminating funding to community-based, prevention-focused gun and gang initiatives
  • Codevelop and implement a fulsome community consultation / engagement strategy with atrisk youth, to better understand gun and gang violence in Niagara region
  • Facilitate and lead group processes with community partners from across the human services system
  • Work closely with Public Health, Niagara Regional Police Service and other community partners in collating and interpreting data from various sources (e.g. crime, social determinants of health, etc.)
  • Collaborate with the Program Specialist and Data Analyst regarding data collection which impact CSWB initiatives
  • Liaise with other divisions and departm
