The Brito Beatles

His caricatures transcend any possible language barrier and these days with Google Translate and I do believe some form of instant translation in the new BeBee upgrade, there is less and less that actually gets lost in translation.  The purpose of art should be both to make us think and engage in the practice of appreciation.  José Brito e Silva delivered these four animations individually through his respective buzzes which I have placed in my Yellow Learning Hive.

What I like most about Brito's work is that he accompanies his drawings with personal reflection.  What he produces usually is about something that has touched his life and/or he touches others with that have an affinity with his art.  For me, through his original creations that focused on Brazilians, I got to learn more about Brazil than I ever would if I simply followed the regular flow and course of social media.

What I refer to now as the Brito Beatles - is a great example of the distinct Brito style and the great thing about his latest works shown above, is that these are people we all know and in knowing them, we can see how the work itself manifests what it is we may know about each of the Fab Four.

José Brito e Silva is one of the hidden gems to be found here at beBee and I for one am much wiser for his contributions.
