Victor Overmind

Victor Overmind means "Victor Over Mind" which equals Manjit a.k.a. Man (Mind) Jit (Victor) and it is the original Twitter profile that now has been replaced by two hives at beBee - the Yellow Learning Hive = CULTURE and the new Magenta Learning Hive = CEREBRAL.

Victor Overmind was my least popular Twitter account and contained probably the best minds or quality media that I can find.  The above picture is from my Excel document and this is command central of how I manage my Spectraneuron accounts when I was using Twitter.

The account was capped at 24 follows per 7 lists - a number chosen simply to represent the meme of 7/24 Living - or "Always-On" existence.  I knew at the time that very few people would care why I chose what I chose but I also discovered that people follow what is easier to follower and that when it came to the fork in the road between long-form content and quickies, people generally love their quickies.  Why not, attention spans on social media are even less than the 8 seconds most people give.

The advantage of using Excel as my command center rather than Twitter itself is that I could see all the avatars of people I follow and by using a border effect around each avatar, I could colour code each avatar to give me a map of what that colour code means per context at the time.  The avatars with a gray box around them parked to the right hand side are accounts that I unfollowed, not because they were rubbish, but because I have a cap of 168 (i.e. 24 x 7).  That is actually hard because the value of any network is in size - but in terms of my purposes - size was irrelvant, flow is what was relevant.

That I have not updated these lists since 2013 is a combination of not being at Twitter but also I was happy with the cast that I had assembled, including premier quality magazines, of which I came to admire The Paris Review and their interviews with bright artists, poets, thinkers etc.

This was the Excel graph of following at the time I moved Spectraneuron from Twitter to beBee.  I am not focused on the numbers that followed me back but the relative following compared to all my Spectraneuron Twitter accounts.  That Victor Overmind was dead last was common.  The irony is that when I look at my hives, my top hive now is the Yellow Hive and the 2nd most viewed Hive is my Magenta Hive.   These two hives are descendants of "Victor Overmind" - that is quite a change.  The top Twitter account was always "Society Manjit" or what is now split as the Orange [Naranja] Hive and The Orange Bee now.

If I go back to Twitter and align each account fully with the way I use my Learning Hives at beBee, I will adopting the perfume analogy at Twitter - but this time using the names "Culture Manjit" and "Cerebral Manjit" or whatever else I decide to do, if I decide to do that. 

The Spectraneuron Lists for "Victor Overmind" are active but I have not utilized these streams other than an occasional check in from time to time.

This is why I do not ascribe the mentality of following but the spirit of flow.  Information flow and personal flow do not need to be a contradiction, they can be a unison.  It all comes down one's affinity, appreciation and adaptive capacity.  We have water in taps but we don't keep our mouth pressed to a tap until our bodies bloat - we take a sip here, a cup there and sometimes it just to wash our cup.  It is strange that we are promoted the mindset of the stalker instead of the thinker - otherwise what the heck is this meme of gaining followers about.

Our world does not change because we share, it changes because we think about what is shared.  We are so inbuilt with 20th Century that we are not cognoscente of developing 21st Century values.  Values which we are the pioneers and not the legacy for.
