We are recruiting for a Manager, Logistics to work at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and be broadly responsible for In-Hospital Logistics ("IHL") at Sunnybrook, as well as oversight of IHL at Holland Orthopedic, St.

Johns Rehabilitation, and the Hemodialysis Program, located in the CNIB facility.


Logistics Accountabilities:


  • All aspects of IHL Operations
  • Ensure inventory levels of ~185 supply carts are maintained through daily scanning and replenishment from the Plexxus Distribution Centre.
  • Conduct regular review of all supply carts to ensure right inventory at right location at the right levels.
  • Provide leadership and oversight on IHL projects including identifying and implementing improvement initiatives as well as supporting improvement initiatives across Sunnybrook.
  • Participates in site specific supply chain initiatives ( i.e. product conversions ) bringing such initiatives to a successful conclusion in a timely manner.
  • Establish annual budgets and strategies to address variances.
  • Establish Stores inventory and criteria to ensure financial accountability and control.
  • Monitor and sustain pandemic supplies levels at the Hospital and thirdparty providers.
  • Leadership
  • Total team of 47 including 6 direct reports (4 Supervisors and 2 Inventory Specialists).
  • Ensure all areas of Logistics are a safe working environment and all staff and equipment operate in a safe and effective manner.
o. Coach and mentor direct reports, following effective performance management processes and labour relation practices.

  • Accountable for labour planning and staffing levels.
  • Participates in labour management meetings encompassing a wide range of labour, employee and departmental issues.

Provides overall leadership through policy direction and organizes, motivates, fosters teamwork, inspires, leads by example and coaches and appraises the efforts of others to achieve business objectives of their discipline(s).


  • Stakeholders
  • Develops and fosters Clinical & Stakeholder Relationships through rounding processes.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Represents the hospital as an active participant in the ongoing development of procedures for emergency preparedness, continuity of services and implements when needed.
  • Acts as representative for Logistics on cross functional Hospital initiatives.
  • Develops and maintains strong working relationships with Suppliers and the Plexxus Distribution Centre.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the hospital senior management team and department heads.
  • Able to balance the needs of the customer and the constraints of the business.

Qualifications:


  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a complex supply chain environment, including 5 years in a management/supervisory role.
  • College Diploma or University Degree with P. Log or CITT Certification considered an asset.
  • Healthcare Supply Chain experience considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated skills in planning, organization, evaluation and implementation processes, along with strong leadership, team building, time management, problem solving and communication skills.
