Assistant Camp Supervisor - RETLife Summer Camp
Valley Gardens Middle School
Full-time term position
Monday to Friday/max 40 hours per week
Effective June 12, 2023, to August 11, 2023

Summary:

RETLife - in River East Transcona School Division - is looking to fill one full-time term position as Camp Supervisor for the RETLife Summer Camp program.

Working in cooperation with the RETLife Program Coordinator and McLeod Adult Education Director, the Camp Supervisor is responsible for researching, creating and planning, and supervising staff for the 5-week camp program for participants aged years old.

Responsibilities:

Leading daily activities for campers using the camp themes as a guide alongside the Camp Supervisor and Program Assistants.
Supervising activities and ensuring the safety of camp participants during field trips.
Communicating with the Camp Supervisor and/or RETLIFE Program Coordinator regarding problems or concerns, as required.
Acting as the person responsible when the Camp Supervisor is not available.
Assisting the Camp Supervisor and Program Assistants with activities and other duties, as required.
Maintaining a safe and positive working environment for staff and campers on site and during field trips.

This position is ideal for university or college students enrolled in programs focused on education, early childhood development, social work, or recreational studies.

Experience working with children and youth in recreational or camp settings is an asset.

This position is supported through Urban and Hometown Green Team funding.

Please indicate if you are between the ages of 15 and 29, have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year; are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident or have official refugee protection status under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (foreign students are not eligible); and you are legally entitled to work in Canada.

Salary:
$18.00 per hour
