Description

Reporting to the VP, Projects, you will work closely with the Project Management Team to successfully deliver a portfolio of international projects while monitoring and reporting on project KPIs and evaluating process improvements related to project delivery.

This is an on-site position at our head office in Ottawa, ON.


YOUR CHALLENGE:


  • Ensure that all project activities and processes are coordinated effectively, and that the project team is working towards successful delivery. Establish clear communication channels between project stakeholders, track progress, and identify and resolve issues.
  • Identify and assess potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Establish risk management procedures and ensure that they are followed by the project team.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, vendors, to ensure that their requirements are met. Establish clear communication channels with stakeholders, address their concerns, and manage their expectations.
  • Establish and enforce quality standards for projects deliverables. Ensure that projects team is following exiting processes and that deliverables meet the required quality standards.
  • Monitor project budgets and ensure that costs are kept under control. Track project expenses, identify cost overruns, and work with individual Project Manager to take corrective action when necessary.
  • Prepare regular reports on project progress, risks and margins to senior management. Keep senior management informed about projects program activities, identify issues that require attention, and propose solutions.
  • Support Project Managers with various activities such as project Kick Offs, Planning, Schedule Updates, Change Management, Document Control, NCRs, Postmortems etc.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE:

  • Bachelor's or College degree in a relevant field such as business management, project management, or engineering.
  • A strong track record of supporting complex projects project stakeholders, ideally with progressively increasing responsibilities.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills to effectively lead and motivate project teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with various stakeholders to ensure stakeholder alignment and project success.
  • The ability to align projects and programs with the organization's strategic objectives and ensure that they contribute to the overall mission and goals.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey project status, issues, and plans to various stakeholders, including executives, team members, and clients (knowing multiple languages would be considered an asset).
  • Proficiency in identifying and mitigating project and program risks, as well as developing contingency plans when issues arise.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and financial management principles to oversee project and program budgets effectively.
