The Faculty of Health Sciences is a large, diverse, and comprehensive unit, comprised of six Schools (Nursing, Kinesiology, Health Studies, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Communication Sciences and Disorders), a large Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and four Research Centres.

The Faculty has more than 3,200 undergraduate students and more than 800 graduate students (200 PhD students).


The National Centre for Audiology (NCA) is recognized nationally and internationally as a centre of excellence and leadership in Audiology and Hearing Science research.

The NCA provides an environment in which researchers from many disciplines work cooperatively to expand knowledge of hearing function and problems, address the needs of people with hearing impairment, and develop behavioural and technological methods to assist persons with hearing loss.

Successes include research productivity and leadership, and ongoing collaboration with hearing health care providers and industries.

Qualifications:


  • Education:
  • Community College Diploma OR Undergraduate Degree in a related field
  • Experience:
  • 1 year of work experience supporting research in a related technical field
  • Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
  • Familiarity with experimental design and analysis
  • Understanding of infant hearing loss and public health programs
  • Detailoriented with an ability to function and process information with high levels of accuracy
  • Ability to follow processes with high attention to detail
  • Ability to employ a systematic and efficient approach to work
  • Computer skills with the ability to learn and use software programs
  • Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public
  • Ability to collect and analyze data in an objective manner
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and resolve issues
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals
