KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Take a lead role in R&D materials development using expertise in cathode materials.
Collaborate with Product Development teams to improve current and future cell designs.
Identify and promote new concepts and techniques that can be applied to commercially viable Liion cell designs.
Lead the planning and executing of experiments.
Develop viable solutions to specific problems that may arise in existing designs.
Keep abreast of new developments in battery technology and make recommendations to management.
Provide support and guidance to manufacturing in Taiwan by resolving problems as they arise.
Opportunity for periodic travel to Taiwan for research collaborations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

M.Sc. or Ph.

in physical or chemical sciences or a relevant engineering field with a strong understanding of material science and how it applies to Li-ion batteries.

A minimum of 3 years' experience in a Liion manufacturing environment and/or industry experience in Liion battery materials or Liion battery end users.
A creative thinker who can contribute new and interesting techniques to advance company research.
Skilled in data presentation, communication, problem solving, critical thinking.
Ability to communicate project needs, challenges, decisions, and proposed solutions.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with and direct people with varying backgrounds and levels of expertise.
Advanced knowledge and technical abilities on a variety of lab instruments and equipment.
Be able to thrive in a rapidly changing work environment.
