We are currently growing our Product Development team and searching for a
Research Technician.

Reporting to the Senior Research Scientist, the incumbent will be a driving force in developing the next generation of our lithium-ion products.

The Research Technician will collaborate with scientists and engineers, while conducting cutting-edge experiments, analyzing data, and presenting research findings.


DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Build and test prototype batteries, including electrode coating, cell assembly and electrochemical testing.
  • Conduct battery teardown and rootcause failure analysis.
  • Analyze batteries and component materials using a wide variety of techniques, including SEM, CT, EIS, TGA, GC-MS, FTIR, BET, and more.
  • Perform experiments to support new R&D method development.
  • Prepare project summaries and deliver written and oral presentations to the R&D department.
  • Exemplify lab best practices, including safety and lab cleanliness.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • BSc. or BEng., or a 2year science diploma with relevant lab and work experience.
  • Excellent observational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent problemsolving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team.
  • Flexibility with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment and corporate goals.
  • Experience in a chemical laboratory is an asset.
