Position Summary

The Total Rewards Coordinator is responsible for assisting HR Team in the areas of benefits, pension, compensation, and payroll.

This role will be responsible for processing biweekly payroll as well as owning all aspects of the pay modules in the HR system.

Primary


Responsibilities:


PAYROLL

  • Administer the overall payroll function
  • Analyze, prepare, enter, and verify data for payroll processing in accordance with company standards and audit requirements
  • Fully process all employee changes in the HRIS system that pertain to pay, including annual pay increases, terminations and payments.
  • Understand the details and process incentives, commissions and bonus payments in payroll
  • Process ROEs and annual T4s
  • Prepare annual reporting for review and finalizing by VP, HR
HRIS (Ceridian Dayforce)

  • Own all backend setup, ongoing maintenance, and updates to HRIS system, specific to org structure, rules and pay setup (pay codes, annual payroll calendars, tax updates, etc)
  • Seek for opportunities to improve processes in HRIS.
  • Create and prepare reports
BENEFITS & PENSION

  • Understand plan policies in depth and ensure all plans are running smoothly
  • Reconcile monthly benefits bills for accounting and ensure the accuracy of premiums
  • Complete monthly pension reports
  • Audit all aspects of benefits and pension on quarterly basis
  • Aid in the annual completion of government reporting
This is not an exhaustive list and other duties may be assigned as permanent or temporary, where required.


Qualifications:


  • A minimum of 2 years of total rewards, payroll or HR Coordinator experience, specific to HR systems and full cycle knowledge of processing actions
  • Sound working knowledge in HR Systems, with handson experience of backend rules creation and mapping.
  • Technical proficiency in HR Systems (Ceridian Dayforce preferred)
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Systematic and logical approach to problemsolving
Education & Experience

  • Post Secondary Education in Human Resources or equivalent work experience
  • Experience in Payroll processing
  • Fully proficient and handson experience in HRIS
Working Conditions & Environment

  • Dedicated In office work environment
  • Adhoc/Informal flex availability (varying hours, remote work at times)
  • Frequent communication with others
  • Ability to sit/stand when required
