Join us on our journey.The Master of Accounting of and Finance (MAccFIn) is the only program of its kind in North America. The program prepares students to pursue professional credentials (CPA, CFA, ACCA) and offers advanced standing toward two of these.
The program incorporates mandatory co-op employment with the study of both accounting and finance to prepare students to navigate the intersections of accounting and finance throughout their career.
The Combined Degree Program (CDP) permits students in the BBA Accounting Specialization in the Department of Management at UTSC the opportunity to gain early acceptance into the MAccFin program in year two of their undergraduate studies.
The MAccFin also welcomes exceptional students from undergraduate accounting degree programs across Canada. Students typically pursue MAccFin immediately upon completion of their undergraduate degree.Your opportunity:
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Graduate Programs, the Academic Coordinator provides a broad range of services and support to students, staff and faculty primarily in the areas of: admissions administration, student onboarding, academic scheduling, staffing and faculty support.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating the recruitment of teaching assistants, course instructors, sessional lecturers and/or stipend instructors
- Providing detailed information on program and/or course eligibility requirements, procedures, policies and deadlines and providing overall administrative support for academic and cocurricular programming
- Preparing acceptance and/or decline letters to applicants using templates
- Circulating files to senior staff and/or admissions committees
- Promoting programs at recruitment events in collaboration with other staff
- Serving as a resource to others by providing (nonsupervisory) jobrelated guidance
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Minimum three years of related experience in academic program administration, or experience in a related administrative role which includes a minimum of six months of that experience in a similar post secondary environment
- Experience using Student Information Systems; sound working knowledge of ROSI and ACORN
- Experience administering the CUPE 3902, Unit 1 and Unit 3 collective agreement
- In depth working knowledge of University of Toronto's academic policies and procedures
- Experience working directly with faculty members and students, or similar constituents in an administrative and clientservice role
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines while multitasking and balancing conflicting priorities
- Demonstrated knowledge of educational systems and international and domestic credential assessment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), judgement, organizational and analytical/problem solving skills
- Advanced computer skills including knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
