CollingwoodGeneral and Marine Hospital (CGMH) is an 84 bed hospital located inCollingwood, Ontario (approximately 90 minutes north of Toronto) that servesmore than 74,000 permanent residents and 3.5 Million annual visitors to thecommunities of Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Clearview and the Blue Mountains.CGMH is an acute care hospital providing emergency care, diagnostic servicesincluding lab, imaging and cardio respiratory therapy, as well as two inpatientunits (medicine and surgery). In addition, CGMH also provides care in specialtyareas including obstetrics, orthopaedics, intensive care and surgery. TheHospital also provides out patient care including dialysis and a wide range ofclinics including mental health and rehabilitation services. CGMH continues toprovide care close to home for our community and plays a key role as anintegrated orthopaedic centre for our region. The Opportunity:

Assistin maintaining orderly flow of daily activities associated with admission,discharge, and transfer of patients, reception, clerical duties andrequisitioning of clerical supplies, equipment and services from otherdepartments.

Qualifications:

Two (2) year Medical OfficeAdministration Diploma or Equivalent

Medical Terminology Certificate

One (1) year clerical and data entryexperience

Current experience Emergency departmentexperience preferred

Meditech experience preferred

Proficient with Microsoft Office

Excellent keyboarding and data entryskills

Excellent customer servicedemeanour

Ability to accurately perform the dutiesof the role with a focused attention to detail

Committed to maintaining confidentiality

Must strive to continuously provide asafe and supportive environment for patients, staff, physicians, and volunteers

Must adhere to the duties of workers, asstipulated in the Occupational Health and Safety Act

Must have an ability to effectivelycommunicate (written and verbal) in the English language in order to provideexcellent communication with team members, patients and families. Ability tocommunicate in additional language(s) is considered an asset.

Must have basic computer skills

Must be dedicated to professional growth& development

Must be able to perform all bona fideand essential duties of the position, which may include physical demands such asmoving/transferring patients, pushing, pulling, bending, etc.

Must have demonstrated excellentattendance/performance record

Excellent organization andprioritization skills

Ability to work independently andeffectively communicate with other members of the health care team
