SUMMARY:


The Parts Counterperson is responsible for customer service and parts sales for our aggregate customers throughout MB and Western Ontario
:


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Responsible for answering calls from customers and Product Support Sales Representatives (PSSR's), Sales Representatives and Service personnel and assisting with securing the parts needed
  • Assists in the receiving and shipping of aggregate parts to fill customer orders
  • Communicates and coordinates parts transfers with other branches
  • Pulls and stages parts for service department repairs
  • Becomes proficient in the online supplier parts systems to look up and order parts
  • Builds knowledge of existing product lines, service standards and procedures
  • Acquires parts and other branch items from local vendors as needed
  • Assists in the collection of data necessary for efficient inventory control
  • Attends local, regional, and national parts training seminars as requested by management
  • Maintains close, positive working relationships with parts, sales, service, and administrative departments
  • Assists with equipment shipping and receiving duties as needed
  • Performs other duties as directed by the Parts Manager

REQUIRED SKILLS:


  • Minimum 2 years' experience in parts sales in a retail environment
  • Experience in aggregate or construction industry preferred
  • Requires a valid driver's license
  • Ability to operate a forklift in close quarters, loading and unloading parts onto and off trucks in a safe manner

NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB:


  • Requires prolonged standing with periodic lifting, walking, standing, bending, stooping, and stretching
  • Requires ability to push, lift, pull, and/or carry 50 lbs. or more
  • Frequent and continual movement as follows, often several of movements simultaneously (i.e.

handle while crouching, carry while kneeling):

  • Kneel (bend legs at knee, come to rest on knees)/Crawl (move on hands, knees, and feet)
  • Crouch/Squat (bend body down and forward, bending legs and spine)
  • Climb (ascend/descend ladders, stairs, ramp, or step up on or down from equipment/trailer)
  • Stoop (Bend downward and forward at waist)
  • Lift (raise or lower object > 25 pounds from one level to another)
  • Carry (transport an object)/Handle (seize, hold turn with hands)
  • Push (press with steady force, moving forward, downward, outward)/Pull (drag or tug objects)
  • Turn/twist (move a body part in circular motion)/Bend (downward/forward at the spine & waist)
  • Reach (extend hands and arms in any direction)
  • Repetitive motion of wrists, hands, and fingers
  • Hearing and speaking to exchange information
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate equipment, such as forklifts
  • Consistently exposed to weather conditions, fumes, and loud noise
